The Network for Adult Learning and Education in Kosovo (ALE NK) was established based on the Education Strategy 2022–2026 and other existing policies in Republic Kosovo, that foresee the advancement of Adult Education (AE) and Lifelong Learning (LLL), as well as the strengthening of cooperation between various state and non-state organizations in Kosovo. These include ministries and relevant agencies responsible for the development of youth and adult education, such as: Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI), Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education (AVETAE), Employment Agency of the Republic of Kosovo (EARK), Pedagogical Institute of Kosovo (PIK). In addition, several civil society organizations with a strong focus on youth and adult education in the Republic of Kosovo are part of this network, including: DVV International, KEC, KVRL Peja, THY, Hareja, ECK (European College of Kosovo). The vision of ALE NK is to provide opportunities for a flexible, inclusive, and equitable system of education and learning for adults of all ages and groups. The network promotes skills development and the empowerment of individuals through close cooperation between state and non-state actors, to respond effectively to the changing social and economic needs of the Republic of Kosovo.
